Hi All, ordered two cable cards for my new TIVO XL HD last week and was supposed to get delivery of these today. Stayed home to meet the technician who never showed up. Called Verizion and was told a supervisor would call me back. No call. Called Verizion again and was told they no longer supply cable cards. I asked why they didn't tell me this when I ordered the cards and they had no response. Just called TIVO and they said the Verizon has to supply these cards. Any comments. I have had FIOS fo a month now but this is really frustrating me. I have a $600 TIVO all activated and ready to go and I cant get cards.

I believe the FCC requires them to have cablecards.
You should call verizon back. I have found that the people in sales, who are supposed to sell stuff don't really know too much about cablecards.Whatever you do, don't ask for an m-card, that really confusses them 🙂

As indicated above, Verizon is required by federal law to supply CableCards. If they want to continue to provide service with a 750+MHz digital cable system, they have got to make them available.

I told them about the legal requirement and they just said that there wasn't any such requirement that they knew of. I talked to three different people there. Spent the whole day doing this and still don't have the cards. Again, the supervisor was suppose to call me but of course I did not receive any call backs. Very frustrating. I will try again tomorrow. Thanks for the replys guys, I will post any results I get from Verizon.

If you can't find a competant rep over the phone in your region, then try submitting a complaint at Verizon Direct.
If nothing comes of that, send me a pm and I will instruct you how to file a complaint with the FCC.

No such thing. Either the CSR's are not informed or else I need to get back on my medication because I'm hallucinating about having had two delivered to me Sat. morning that were placed into my TiVo HD's....on second thought, maybe they're (TiVo's) not real either. Yes, they have them (M cards at that).

PM one of the Verizon employees on here like Techman28. Any one of them can help you work out any issue you are having. Don't even worry about phone support it is useless. I am surprised they even know how to pick up the phone.

Called Verizon this morning, and spoke with a supervisor, he sent me over to the order department here in California and supposedly the cards are on order again but they will not be able to get out to my house to install them until Friday the 20th. I asked to get this expedited but that was the soonest. They also told me to try the Verizon Plus stores in the area, and I did but they do not carry the cards. I have until March 1st to return my TIVO so my big concern of course is making sure it will be useable with FIOS before then. If not, I will send it back and stick with the FIOS HD DVR. Sure would like to get this taken care of sooner but doesn't look like it will happen. Thanks for all the responses, this board gave me more info than al the phone calls I made which sure doesn't speak well to Verizon. Will let everyone know how it turns out. Again, thanks!
