So I just had my FIOS installed this past weekend and everything has been good overall, that is until the sound just went out in one of my rooms yesterday. I still have a great picture and everything else appears to be working normally, I just can't hear anything coming from the tv. All the connections are good, my box was rebooted while I was online last evening with customer service and still nothing.
I have an appointment scheduled for saturday for them to come out and chack on this but would appreciate hearing if anyone else has had a similar experience and how it got resolved. FYI, this problem is on my HD Box on a Samsung television.
Thanks
Same problem --- HD Box and a Sharp HD TV.... happens during DVR Recordings.... possibly related --- not sure --- and I haven't received any help with it either...
Do you connect your STB/DVR to the Samsung via HDMI? Samsungs have a somewhat checkered past when interfacing with the Verizon boxes. As an experiment, you might try component cables for video, and separate audio cables. Just to see if this is an HDMI handshake issue. Also check to see if you have the latest firmware for your TV.
I have the same problem. The sound will just cut out for no reason. Hitting the Back arrow once takes care of it. Weird.
Yes, I have had this issue also and rewinding a bit does seem to work. I have also had the TV or STB abruptly shut off - does anyone else have this in conjunction?
Has anyone gotten a solution to the sound issue?
