I have a Samsung HD TV and recently received a replacement STB, a Motorola QIP7216. It took care of other problems I had but it does not remember the type of TV selected, SD or HD. Each time I turn on the TV a screen comes up and I am ask to choose SD or HD. When I select OK for HD it functions properly. This did not happen with a previous 7216 box I had. It does the same thing whether I use HDMI or Component connections. I have tried rebooting and changing video settings. I have read the post of a similar problem with a different type STB and the recommended solution of turning on the TV first by not using the remote to turn on the STB and TV with one press of the power button. This solution is unacceptable given the charges we pay. There must be a solution to fix a problem that did not exist on an earlier STB.

So I'm having the same problem and this post is marked solved but the solution was sent by private message? Why can this not be posted for all to see?

Really, So the solution to this admitted problem is so secret, that it can't be given to customers publicly? Is it "classified", maybe? Geeesh
I would like this solution as well because ...
I have a Samsung HD TV and recently received a replacement STB, a Motorola QIP7216.
Each time I turn on the TV a screen comes up and I am ask to choose SD or HD.
When I select OK for HD it functions properly.
Please send me this hush-hush solution as well.
