Just an FYI, it costs Verizon $1500-$2,000 for Verizon to install Fios to 1 home on their end.
Also $30 for 100 mbps? I'm calling **bleep** on that. I just looked up the rates and there is no such price for that tier.
I see $89 for the first year then it goes up after that.
I can show you my latest bill from Comcast at my other home in the same exact zip code. It's $30/Mo. for 100 Mbps all day long.
I compaletely disagree with your exagerated cost per home install estimate. That would be closer to the cost of running cable down my whole street. Irregardless of you errant assumption, their cost of acquiring customers is their expense, not mine.

If you do cancel, I suggest you check with Verizon on how they want their boxes back. If you do not return them, they will charge you and submit any unpaid bills to collections. If you demand Verizon come and get the equipment, you will find a collections claim against you and damage to your credit report. You can avoid that by either shipping the equipment back to them (they should pay for shipping - again, get instructions from the agent when you cancel) or taking the equipment to a Verizon FiOS store.
Yes, installing the FiOS drop fiber and equipment is expensive. Cable install costs are similar. We users just don't see these costs because they are built into the fees charged with the expectation that a subscriber will stick around for a few years or more.
Good luck with Comcast.

Finally got the attention of someone at the mothership.
What do you plan on offering to me to keep my business?
As said the moderators are here to keep things on track and polite. They are not here to offer you anything.
