Isn't it amazing how so many of us have become conditioned to expect the caller ID display to come up on our TVs whenever somebody is calling us?
Anyway, I thought this tip might be helpful for others because after trial and error and after having called 1-800-VERIZON in the past about this, I eventually learned what to do if and when the caller ID display suddenly doesn't work. It's very much like resetting a photocopier or unplugging everything and plugging everything back in if you suddenly can't get onto the Internet. On the menu settings, I temporarily disable the caller ID display and then set it back to enable. Then I also turn off my router and unplug the coaxial cable from the router and then plug the coaxial cable back in and turn on the router again because the TV menu options go through the Internet.
The caller ID display on my TV won't come back on immediately but I always find that by the next day, my caller ID display is up and running again. The "warning" sign that it can take 24-48 hours for the caller ID display to start working again is correct.
