5g home and Verizon app

I just got the 5g home wifi router for my house. My question is:
I have an android tablet that is not a Verizon tablet and when I installed the my Verizon app and tried to use it it says " we're sorry it looks like we are having trouble connecting." If I go to troubleshoot it says sim card is missing. I can use the my Verizon app on my Apple phone which is not a Verizon phone either, so how do I connect on my tablet?
