AutoPay - why does it take 60 days?????

I don't understand why there's an "enrollment process" with Auto Pay?

Can someone explain why?

Is it not as simple as charging the credit card that I ask you to?

IT may take less.  Mine was approved in 3 days, but they reminded me to pay the next bill (which you can do online with that same credit card).  But it normally at least one complete billing cycle.  They say 60 days to cover themselves in case where they just miss a billing cycle.
