I admit. I don't like door to door sales. It is one reason I moved into a deed restricted gated community where it is not permitted.
I came home this evening to find an unmarked SUV with out of state tags in front of my home, idling, and a man wandering up and down my street leaving tags. Very helpful, since it includes him name, {edited for privacy} (as best I can read it) and phone {edited for privacy}.
When he approached me, I asked if he needed help. He asked if I lived at the address, and I affirmed. I informed him that our community does not permit door to door sales, and that it is posted as such outside the gated master community. I asked him to leave. He informed me that he had to check with his boss first. I asked him if he was doing technical service. He said yes, he was Verizon technical. I asked what he needed, and he proceeded to show me a door to door sales worksheet and start in on a product offer line. Mind you, I already HAVE Fios, which he was hawking.
I asked him to leave again, and told him if he did not, I was calling the police. He eventually left, but muttered something under his breath which I suspect to have been impolite at best.
I ask you: does this person actually work for you? Is THIS what you want representing your company?
I actually tried to call Verizon help, but let me tell you. The customer service agent was completely unhelpful, referred me to Verizon.net to fill out a form (ironically for technical support), and then promptly started a sales pitch on me as well...
I am appalled. So much so that I found somewhere to type something in, for the 2nd time ever in my 40 years. To say that I am unimpressed with the customer experience today does not begin to describe reality. To date, I'd had nothing but nice things to day about Verizon, and I've been a loyal customer for something like 10 years...

1-800-VERIZON
Other options are on Verizon's Contact Us page.
With all due respect, everyone says to call 1-800 VERIZON, but there is no option on there for customer service complaint.
The Contact Us section gives no option for a Customer Service complaint either. I tried both. Then I called the 1 800 VERIZON line, and was told to go look at the Contact Us section...
