Go ahead - log into your account, then select and upgrade option for what seems like a reasonable amount. Then check what your new estimated bill will be. SURPRISE. More than a $100 over what you were expecting? Yup. They're at it again. Unbelievable. You think they'd learn their lesson by now.
In our case, we had a bundle with the Extreme TV. Logged into our account and see that we can upgrade to "Ultimate TV" for (quote) $15 more (unquote). We were only going to do it for the Movie channels. Who the Hell needs 400+ TV channels? Prior to this we were paying $217 a month including taxes and fees, so upgrading to Ultimate should only raise our bill to around $235 or $240, right? OH SO WRONG!!!. Thankfully, I checked what our new estimated bill would be and it was WELL OVER $300!
And as so many others have found out AFTER being dooped by Verizon, their excuse was that the upgrade would also trigger an increase to the rest of our bundle. So, they felt just fine saying that a $15 increase to our TV would trigger an additional $85 increase to the other features of our bundle.
I'm awaiting a call back from one of their supervisors. It's been over an hour and a half so far. As usual, it doesn't that their very concerned with holding onto existing customers. We're also seriously looking at Comcast/Xfinity. Even with their higher fees and "only" 200 channels, their deals look much more reasonable.
