My FIOS service went totally dead on Tuesday-- NO PHONE, NO INTERNET, NO TV. The problem was reported to Verizon early on Thursday Feb 3rd. Their response ---NO PROBLEM, WE CAN HAVE IT FIXED BY THE 19TH!. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? THE 19TH?
The problem appears to be with the ONT. If so, it's a 15 minute repair for Verizon. I've already spent $70 on two backup batteries that keep things on for a few hours just to find out this worthless piece of information. Verizon blames ERCOT for the rolling blackouts. They why isn't everyone down?
Called Verizon again this morning. Even though one area on their website says I don't have a repair ticket and another area shows the ticket with the 19th commitment date, Matt, a very nice customer service rep assures me that I have moved up to the 8th. Matt gets extra points for being able to correctly answer that the 8th is two days AFTER THE SUPER BOWL!
I asked to talk to Matt's supervisor -- he/she will have to call me back -- WITHIN 24 HOURS!
Matt tells me that since I have absolutely no service, my ticket has the highest priority. So, if you are having the same problems in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, please reply to this post. There should be thousands of replies according to Verizon.

Seems like the same old Verizon. Here it is a year later and now the problem is in La Marque, Tx. My service has been down for over a week and all I get is :"the entire area is down and they are working on it". My repair ticket had a commitment date that is 5 days overdue. Got to love it! NOT!!!!.
