Phone a cable lines resting on tree branches

I currently have a tree in front of my house that belongs to the township that has branches tangled on phone and cable lines. The township has marked the tree to be cut down because it is rotting but they won’t do it until those lines are not tangled on the branches. I waited an hour on the phone to be told Verizon does not trim trees. I am located in Somerset NJ and would appreciate any help with this issue.
