friends and family prepaid mastercard

What a complete joke this is. Neighbor signed up for FIOS. The friends and family is to send me a $100 prepaid mastercard. Got this email:

Thanks for using Refer a Friend. Your Prepaid Mastercard®
is waiting for you. Click the button below to register for your card.

When you click the link it does not work. Called FIOS and they told me the link is broken and will be available on 1/23/2019. STILL BROKE!! Don't fall for this gimmick. Why can't FIOS just mail the card??? WHY O WHY do I need to register for something that you can just send me? I need to reconsider why I use FIOS when contract is up.
