Hi,
I live in North Reading, MA. There are tree branches resting on verizon wires. I called the lighting department to check it out and they told me to inform verizon. How should I proceed?

Verizon doesn't actually trim trees. If trees are leaning on wires it is the property owners responsibility.

These trees are not on homeowner’s property.

Contact you city, town or village engineering office and have them get in touch with verizon. Verizon like the cable and power companies have a responsibility to take care of any hazards to their property. (poles & wires) Be it in the street or an easement on a personal property. Since a homeowner didn’t place the poles or wires on their private property why would a property owner have to pay to clear poles or obstructions?
best of luck

Thank you for your suggestion! I will check on that.
