Verizon Work Trucks Illegally Blocking the Maryland Avenue Cycle Track in Baltimore

Two Verizon trucks were illegally blocking the cycle track this morning (9:00 AM, July 1). This forced many cyclists (including myself) to leave the safe, separated cycle track and ride in heavy city traffic to avoid the obstruction.

The trucks' license plates are "8CN1816" and "4FC7335". Both registered in Maryland.

One truck had a cable leaving the truck and going into an open manhole.

Note that it was not necessary for either truck to be blocking the cycle track, since there was an entry lane to a parking garage at the corner where the manhole is. Both trucks could have parked on the lane to the garage, legally, and not obstructed or inconvenienced anyone.

Please explain what actions you will take to ensure this hazardous and completely unnecessary situation will never occur again.
