Why can I remote to my desktop computer from a public location however I cannot remote in from home?

I cannot remote into my desktop computer from home, but I can remote in from a public location like Starbucks. I have determined it is my verizon router that is preventing me from connection to my work desktop. Any idea why this is? I have researched and tried everything, but nothing is working.

Undoubtedly being blocked. Probably need to open some ports. A quick search seems to say port 3389
