Why does my bill keep going up?

I have cut back on my service and canceled my protection service plan which I am still waiting for it to come off my bill, that was in June now on Septembers bill I'm still paying for it. I have complained about it repeatedly. I'm being taxed for everything under the sun. Including being taxed on the taxes, when does it end? I'm on a fixed income and can't afford it to keep going up for less service, is any one else having this problem.

I'm having the same issue.  My bill has gone up $27 in two months.  I called but the rep and supervisor say "sorry there's nothing we can do".  I'm in contract till August and will continue just to keep them from screwing with my good credit, but believe me this customer is gone after that.  It's a shame too because I'm otherwise happy with the service.  I think the underlying problem is greed.  Why can't a company just be straightforward and say hey, here's what we offer and here's the price you must pay if you want it.  But no, Verizon has so many promotions and limited time credits etc etc it becomes a tangled mess.  This business strategy may work to draw new customers in the short term, but in the long term treating loyal customers so poorly by jacking up the bills and doing nothing to keep that customer happy will backfire.  Sure, Verizon will get their $27 extra bucks a month till the end of the contract.  Nothing I can do.  O yeah, there is!  I'll share my experience with every coworker, friend, aquaintance, etc. my poor experience with Verizon.

And by the way, both folks I talked to on the phone were friendly.  I truly do believe their hands were tied by "the system".  So it's not a problem of rude folks on the phone, just lousy corporate behavior.

Thanks for Reading!

wow, that's bad. my bill nudged up over the years, but not  by that amount. I've finally decided to upgrade from dsl to fios, and should cost less for the first year, and about the same for the second year, provided they don't change the rules of the game like for you.

Any idea how I can get them to tell me what the final cost will be per month. The customer service chat rep (electronic) told me fees will be 10-15pct of the base cost, and that Id' see that in the Review section, But hey, nothing showed as far as fees when I got thru. making me wonder if she was truthful or not.

Are you paying 10-15% fees on top of a base price? thanks

My bill is suppose to be 45.00 a month so how is it that I am being charged a little over 60 in taxes alone making my bill almost 100 for the basic phone service with no extras and the lowest high speed service they have? Then I get suspension notices because I can't make payments like that every month. I think it's time to call the BBB, FCC, and the Public Utility Commission.
