Can anyone tell me how to set up Windows Fax and Scan? First time I have tried to Fax on a new computer. It says I conect to a Fax Modem or a Fax server on my network. I don't know if I have either.

The program requires you to have an RJ-11 connection on your computer be it a desktop or notebook or laptop computer. Now baring you not having this connection many all in one printers can be hooked up via telephone line in (phone) and then hook the supplied RJ-11 cable to or from the printer. This way you would select fax from your all in one printer, place the document in the printers scan tray then dial the number and it should fax. Always set the baud rate to 9600 or below if using such devices.
in basic setups with a computer you can use a line splitter to have one telephone line to your basic home phone and a second cable to the telephone jack from the computer.
to access a fax send you use the print command in your document (I use WordPerfect and MS Word) I select the fax instead of printer and click send.
Hello, I'm in the same boat. My wife just wants to scan then fax right from Windows Fax and Scan. It's connected with an Ethernet cable, but Windows Fax and Scan doesn't recognize it.
