I signed up with Verizon about a year ago with a two-year contract. My husband was already working in another state back then and we knew we were moving eventually. So I specificaly asked whether I needed to pay early termination fee if I had to cancel the service. I was told that if Verizon didnt provide the service at my new home, I didn't have to pay the early termination fee. So I went ahead and signed the contract.
Now that we are moving to a town in CT outside Verizon's service area. When I called this afternoon I was told I had to pay the termination fee anyway! I was told the wrong information and there was no way the termination fee could be waived.
Apparently that's Verizon's policy that customer has to pay for their employee's mistakes!!!
Not NO WAY IT can be waived, but you need to reach a sympathetic ear at Verizon.
