Problem with new webmail interface

After I foolishly switched to the new webmail interface, the messages received using UTF encoding are not displaying correctly. My wife's webmail (using the old interface) is showing the same messages correctly. I was told by verizon support that it is a browser issue. How can that be? I logged in for the 2 accounts (mine and my wife) from the same computer and see the same messages displaying differently. I want to switch back to the old webmail interface. How do I do that? Thank you for all the help.
