Stuck in MS Exchange

I started to configure Outlook 2003 for my Verizon account by using Microsoft Exchange. When I realized my mistake, it was too late. Now Outlook demands that I connect to MS Exchange, but of course I can't. How do I reset the account, or Outlook, to start over?

I'm not sure which OS you are using, but based on the XP on my work pc...
- Open your Control Panel.
- Double click on Mail.
- Category View: User Accounts and then Mail.
- Click the E-mail Accounts... button.
- Highlight the account you created and click the Remove button.
