Verizon AOL Sending, Not Receiving

For several days I was unable to send and receive verizon.net emails using Outlook. I went to the AOL site and was unable to create a 3rd party password. That issue got resolved and I was able to generate the password. I could then send email messages, but I could not receive. I checked the POP3 settings (pop.verizon.net SSL PORT 995). I now get the error message: "Your POP3 server is providing inconsistent information. The number of messages returned by the STAT command does not match the number of items returned by the UIDL or LIST commands." Any suggestions? Thanks
