Verizon charged me for the TV box its own technician took from my home when he came to cut my cable

On July 19th, a Verizon technician called Gary came to my house to cut my cable and upgrade my internet. Since I had just 1 TV connected to cable he offered to return the TV box for me to save me a trip to USPS, since he was a Verizon technician I agreed and then he left my house with the TV box. Few days later Verizon started to ask me about the TV box and I said his technician took with him. I opened a claim and in the last few months I've talked to so many people from customer service about this, one day they say the equipment was found the next day they charge me for the equipment again. I am so tired of this. Why Verizon don't just look who was the Gary that came to my house on July 19, 2022 and ask this guy where he put the equipment. I'm seriously thinking about going to the police and say the Verizon technician stole the equipment from my home because Verizon can't find this equipment. Please can someone help me.
