MyVerizon PrePay not working

I have been trying for the past two days to add data to my account through the MyVerizon app, but have been unable. When I go to the website and try it, it states my SIM Card and phone are not paired. And when I attempted to pair, I was told it was not possible and I need a new one, but I am not willing to lose all my information.

SIM cards don't store data, you should not lose any personal data by replacing your SIM card.

That's absolutely true. The SIM card is only for connecting with service with a current 4G device.
