I don't think there is much you can do. Here is Google's - Help article on how to reset your phone and start over.
PEThompson1962, we definitely want you to have access to your device. Was this a PIN that you created for the lock screen? Which make and model phone is this? While some manufacturers will provide an option to reset this through an online tool, many others will require a factory restore on the device.
