New sim card

If I buy an unlocked Pixel 6 from Best Buy and I am using a Samsung S8, how do I get the proper SIM card for the new phone???  Current Verizon customer.

SIM cards are the same size, so it would physically fit from the old phone to the new phone. But I don't think the S8 was a 5G phone, so don't use that SIM card in your new 5G phone. You'll need a new SIM. They are free at a Verizon store.

Why? Especially if their current plan might not have 5G included or as an option.
