Not Clear App Cache... instead, System Cache Wipe. That is what many of the posters need to do because their phones became flaky post-update.
One thing to try is to delete the alarm. I have found that turning it off does not always work. And yes I have double checked. And yes I have restarted my phone. In fact when I restart the phone I get a notification that an alarm is ongoing, even though I don't have any alarms set to on. It is unfortunate that the instructions seem to just explain what to do under normal expected circumstances, and not any additional steps to do when the instructions don't work.
