Not sure if this is just me, but I've noticed just recently under 1.9 that if I'm playing back a show on a STB that's currently being recorded on the DVR, if I fast forward to the point of "real time," the DVR playback abruptly ends and the STB returns to live TV. As an example, you start recording a show on the DVR in the bedroom at exactly 8 pm, and start playing that same show back from a STB 90 seconds later, at 8:01:30. At the first commercial break, you zip through all the commercials and "catch up" to the actual time. Under 1.8, I'm pretty sure the DVR would stop the fast forward operation a few seconds before the very end and leave you in the DVR playback mode on the STB, so you could pause or rewind later on if you wanted. Under 1.9, you just get dumped out to live TV and need to restart the playback if you want to be able to continue pausing that program, etc. I'd suggest the DVR playback should continue until and unless the user presses the STOP button on the DVR (or, of course, changes channels, etc.)
I haven't run into this problem with 1.9. I suggest trying to reboot the STB to see if that helps.
I see the issue.
I am having the same problems. I also noticed that the program indexing is off when this happens. The show might start playing back fine and all of the sudden when a thirty minute show is half over the time left will show 25 minutes. Usually all I can do is delete the program and try and record it again if it is rerun at a later date. I suspect that there is a defective section on the hard disk. I haven't called VZ about this yet but wil be soon.
It is not your hard drive or your issue alone. So don't do anything to try to resolve it. 1.9.1 is suppose to have the fix for it and that is coming early next year.rdibened wrote:
