Do I like the new guide initially? No, I'll admit that. However, I will limit my complaints to those that are PURELY functional. Before I get into those functional problems though, I think the new guide has a ton of potential. I like that I can (now) setup a recording from my bedroom (non-DVR) and I can delete programs when I am done watching them (instead of waiting until the next time I am downstairs).
However, I would trade that in a heart-beat to eliminate the two functional problems I am having. First, the guide can often be very slow to respond. Sometimes it is fine. Other times it is miserably slow. The DVR could eventually train me to tolerate this but I won't like it.
My main issue is with the second functional problem. If I am attempting to record more than two shows in a time slot, the new guide DOES NOT SHOW the conflict in any way. The old schedule showed me VERY CLEARLY that there were 3 (or more) shows all for the same time slot. The top 2 priorities would be recorded and the lower priorities would not (unless I rescheduled them).
Verizon, I would rather have a working Taurus than a broken BMW. Please don't take away a system that was working on force a non-working system (with more bells and whistles) on me.
