Camera Motion Detect Recording

When a camera is activated by motion detection, it records for appox 30 seconds. My question is, how much time must elapse after the 30 seconds of recording before the motion detect will trigger the next recording?

Example: I have a camera setup to monitor our driveway. As someone drives in the motion detect triggers the camera. The recording shows the car coming up the driveway, the person gets out of the car and walks out of camera view. The 30 seconds record time elapses. There is no additinal video of the person getting back in the car and driving away even though the person would have had to walk back through the motion detect coverage area and the car would have gone through the motion detect coverage area to exit the driveway.
