Dlink dns323 ftp server not showing up

first i had everything working while i was on Optimum Cable.  When i switched over to Verizon a few things went bad.  I though it was in my settings so i decided to play around.  Ultimately i disconnected my Dlink DIR 655 router and went straight to the verizon router. 1ST The Dlink Router had better Access controls for my kids but i was willing to settle for Verizon's.  2ND i still can not get the Dlink servers folders to show themselves.  One of them was on port 21 but now I've changed it. They are now just 2 digits different from each other.

  OK now after putting in my FTP:// address.xxx.xxx.xxx:PORT for either server the computer hangs for about 2 to 3 minutes and then the ftp window appears but does not show any volume number or folder to click on, just to go up one level. I've checked the passive numbers on the 2 dlink servers and added them to the port forwarding, as well as the single port number, hopefully correctly. After 12 hrs of playing I'm stumped!!

#1 I know you have FIOS.

But is that FIOS Internet Only or does it include FIOS TV?

#2 What is the exact brand, model and hardware version of the Verizon router?

For example Actiontec, MI-424-MI, Rev C.
