Help with Trane TZEMT400BB Thermostat

Hi,

I'm hoping someone might have an answer to my issue.

I purchased the Trane Thermostat TZEMT400BB (Nexia) from amazon which is the same model as used by verizon HMC.   HMC allowed me to pair the device and do the initial program on it (setup a weeks worth of temp settings).   I returned to the device control menu and its now listed as not supported.

I called support and they suggested that it was firmware based locking devices into provider.   

My question is why did it work at all and does anybody have a solution cause i'm sure others don't want to have to remove their existing zWave thermostats to purchase the same with different firmware.

Its been running for a week and the schedule is going strong, but i have no way of updating it now.

Any help would be great.   Thanks.
