Port Forwarding.

Ok, so I have been messing around with my router the past few days trying to open port 25565 for a Minecraft server. I have an ActionTec mi424wr rev. f. Yet, every time I try messing around with a few options (source port, destination port, IP address, etc) it still never works. I have tried disabling my firewall, turning off AVG, and turning my router security to low. I even downloaded a simple port forwarding program. Even that didn't work. I have tried almost everything, and I can't find help on the internet because, apparently, my router is rare or something. I am almost about to give up. You guys are my last hope. Any suggestions?

How are you defining the port foward?  Please explain what you are doing, steps taken and things you indicated in port forwarding rules.
