Router config to use Sony "Media Remote" app?

Hi,

The problem I'm having is a tv remote control app on an iPad (192.168.1.8 via wifi) cannot see a tv (192.168.1.7 via ethernet).  The iPad is interacting with the Internet just fine, and the tv is able to download things like YouTube & so on as well.

While the tv, a Sony HX750, is on the list of supported devices of the app, which you can see at this iTunes link, the running app cannot find any Sony devices on the net.  The app only says that your router might need to bypass privacy measures.  Not very specific.

Does anyone have an idea what is needed here?  I showed the IP addrs above just to verifiy that the gadgets are on the same subnet as requires by the app.

Thanks for any ideas!

Mike

Thank you, that did the trick - you saved me many hours of poking around at settings.

Very much appreciated!  Thanks again,

What router do each of you have?  While this works like a charm.....my router updates the firmware the instant it's connected to the internet and the IGMP setting is no longer there....and therefore none of my DLNA devices work.  As long as I"m running the .20 firmware everything works perfect....but as soon as the router auto updates to the .36 firmware....the devices no longer work.  I'm hoping maybe I can get VZ to send a router that will not update the firmware.  Tech support cannot help.

and BTW>....yes...I have disabled the automatic upgrade...it just still continues to do so.  I"ve tried blocking the incoming port and the firewall will not allow me to block that port.
