using IMG 1.9, there is a new option in the DVR series default preferences, called, called "Recording Type". It allows 3 choices, SD, HD, or all. How is this implemented, and what function does it serve? Does it automagically change a recording to HD, even if a SD channel that has an equivilent HD is selected, if the recording type selected is HD?

It also has 3D.   It really works best when you set the other options to "All Channels" and "Anytime".  Then when you set "HD", it will only record from HD channels.
