Thermostat and iPhone app not syncing info properly

Anyone have this issue. Activate AC from phone and lower temperature. As the temperature lowers, the phone doesn't update the lower temp or say that the Theromstat is cooling. It says idle. I am home to witness the central AC is on. It's intermittent. Thoughts?
