I would like to know if anybody at Verizonknows when VHO-6 (Massachusetts) will finally IMG 1.9? Since spring of 2011 Verizon is rolling out it’s NEW Intermedia Guide, release 1.9 - new software that gives customers many enhanced features and upgrades. The rollout of new IMG 1.9 is finished throughout the nation for 2 months already but not for the Massachusetts customers. Verizon production manager Joe Ambeault, who manages rollout of new IMG, through his tweets and blogs on Verizon forum for several times already issued dates for the rollout of new software for Massachusetts and New York customers only to renounce later his self established dates of rollout and announce of one after another delay. By my count there were already 4 delays of promised rollout dates of the new software by Verizon. November 15 new “carved in stone” date of rollout for Massachusetts customers were announced in Joe Ambeault tweet:
I personally called twice to Verizon customer service and Verizon rep and then his supervisor assured that rollout is scheduled for Massachusetts 11/29/2011.
But now it’s almost guaranteed not to happen – November 22 Joe Ambeault produced one more tweet informing those who read his tweets ( not Verizon FIOS Customers, but those who he chooses to answer to) that it will be another delay for several more weeks for New York and Mass customers who are unfortunate enough to be compiled together in Verizon VHO-6 ( Verizon upgrades new software by VHO, one at a time):
No formal explanation on Verizon forum why delays has become a routine (again, we are the only region in the nation not upgraded) , no apology, just vague and meaningless referral to several more weeks of another delay.
This kind of treatment of the customers is like standard operation procedure for Verizon and I wonder when somebody in the top management of Verizon will intervene to, at least, explain to hundreds of thousands Massachusetts Verizon FIOS customers why they are being discriminated in getting new software and all new features associated with it.
Thank you
Yeah, still waiting on that update so I can use that dvr expander I bought 6 months ago that their website said would work with my current setup. It's just odd that this is the last region to get things done.
There were some things going on in the network that prevented us from rolling out on the date we had chosen.
We are now planning for this early in the new year.
Early in the new year? does that mean Earliest Jan. Latest April?
I'm sorry, I can't be too specific about the date yet.
We would like to complete it as soon as we can in the new year, but do not wish to raise expectations about when that will be until we are completely certain of the date the upgrade will occur..
Don't hold your breath Diego. 🙂 I've been following the 1.9 rollout closely and it's been abysmal. Considering the missed deadlines and lack of transparency from Verizon you won't get a straight answer from them. My guess is we will see it in MA sometime in Feb (like I said, just a guess and I have no proof or inside information to support this)
Perhaps as a good faith gesture, Verizon can give us all eSATA drives as compensation? Or, at the very least, sell them to us at a significant discount. Sounds good to me!
I live just north of Boston, and had FiOS installed on 12/23. I have IMG 1.9 as I checked the version on my STB last night, so it's out there..... I have not had any issues with it or FiOS for that matter. Been great since installed...

I would say you may have recieved a new box that is preloaded with 1.9. I believe the issues are with the distribution of 1.9 to all the STB online because of network issues. It had been stated before, the distribution was stopped because of technical issues. Thet was prior to the strike if I recall.
Were you provided with CISCO equipment? They are preloaded with IMG 1.9
