Wrong revision

i just ordered fios for my home internet. Verizon rep told me I need to get router/modem with revision I. I ordered from Amazon and got revision f. Will it work? Should I return it?

Depends on how much you paid and how much you care about netwok speed. rev I is a N router with  gigabit ports. I was concerned more aboout the ports than the fact it is an N router. Not sure how much you paid. If it more than 20 bucks, I would send it back. A new rev I is 74.99 from verizon (plus shipping?) I think the quantum gateway is on sale as well. Dont quote me on that.

Yes, the Quantum gateway is currently on sale for $99 until 1/17/2015.  The Quantum router is a dual band, 802.11.ac device. Verizon has announced it will get guest WiFi and additional features in a future firmware upgrade.   Details here:
