It seems I have problems with SON. When was 1.5.0.10 released? Having issues with some wifi connections. iphones connect and disconnect constantly. My dell laptop has problems connecting.
Solved! Go to Correct Answer
1.5.0.10 turned on DFS. Turning off DFS in the channel settings/scan check box fixed the issue. SON is back on with no issues. Older devices now connect again!
I had issues with an older laptop, iPhone 6-8 and other IOT devices etc...
Really a bad decision to turn on DFS with 1.5.0.10.
Did you try turning off SON to see if problems still occurs.
Yes, Today I turned off SON and went back to separate SSIDs for 2.4 and 5.
So far so good but I will need to wait a few days to be for sure.
The problem started about 2-3 weeks ago. No problems before. I had installed the G3100 back in April.
So far it works better but G3100's coverage for my house has been reduced.
What was the release date of 1.5.0.10? From what I can tell it seems to have been recently released. I wouldn't be surprised if 1.5.0.10 is a bad release and not adequately tested.
Found another report in DSL reports that shows 1.5.0.10 version added and enabled DFS by default.
I'm betting DFS is the problem I'm running into.
