what type wan dhcp, pppop, static ip, pptp,l2tp or special.
what user name and password do i use.
so far i have tried pppop with my verizon user name and password with no luck in connecting to the internet.
It depends on what your area uses. Most of Verizon's areas use PPPoE but some still use DHCP on the DSL. The best way to determine what you use is to look at what your modem says it's using. If it's using PPPoE, you would use the Username and Password for your master Verizon account, and for this to connect you must have your modem in bridge mode. If the modem has a PPPoE connection your router will not be able to establish another one, since Verizon only allows one session per account. If your modem is using "Routed Bridge" mode and can get online, or is otherwise using DHCP you will need to bridge your modem and leave it switched off for two hours afterwards to allow the DHCP lease to expire. Or, you can call Verizon and have them break the lease for you.
