Actiontec GT704WG and ASUS RT-N66R - how to get them to work together?

I've spent the last two days trying to get these two components to work together but only had success once but the connection quickly died out. Could anyone tell me how to set these up (assuming factory settings) to get the Actiontec to bridge mode and the Asus as the primary router? Thanks in advance for replies. (Both components have latest firmware.)
