Actiontec MI424WR Port forward problem.

Newbie

Hello, my first post and I have a problem. I have has some recent needs to port forward, but I'm having some trouble entering the port forward site at 192.168.1.1. I can get the the login page, but it asks me for a username and password. I've been told these should be admin and password, but that didn't work. Does anyone know how to reset this account or find details on it?

Thank you in advance.

#1 Should you be asked for a login, try the following:

admin/password

admin/password1

admin/admin

admin/admin1

Your Verizon Username and Password

Admin/serial number.

By serial number, I do not mean type it words serial number. I mean find and enter in the serial number that is found on the bottom of the router.

#2 If you can't log-in to the router, please post and we will go from there to try to figure out what is going on....

Verizon gives the ActionTec MI424WR out to FiOS users, so you might have just posted this in the wrong forum or you are in fact using this on DSL. Anyways, if the passwords DSLR above gave didn't work, give the router a factory reset. This will allow you to change the password upon visiting http://192.168.1.1/ once the router reboots.
