Problem/Issue
I upgraded to Fios 1 gig service. I was using Actiontec/sunbeam Moca to extend my ethernet services to the downstairs. When I update to Fios 1Gig from 100mbps, I was experiencing dropped service and the G3100 router was rebooting. I discovered it was bottlenecking created by the Moca.
Solution:
I updated the Actiontec/Sunbeam MoCa ECB6250k02 2.5-1 gig to new ECB7250k02 2.5 - 2.5 gig and it resolved the issues and has been running fine now for several months!
I hope this Helps anyone using the G3100 with Moca 2.5-1 gig...
This does not make sense. First of all, G3100 does not reboot because the MoCA is "bottlenecked."
Secondly, ECB7250 is not recommended as some hardware versions have issues connecting to Macs and only provides one Ethernet jack as compared to MoCA Ethernet Adapter developed by VZ. MEA provides one 2.5GbE and three GbE, also supports Spanning Tree Protocol for link redundancy.
