After removing TV and phone, should I remove the coax splitter?

I used to have FIOS Cable + internet + phone. I have cancelled cable TV and phone.

I have the coax cable running from the ONT to a 3-way splitter, one to my router, and the two others used to run to STBs and now just hang empty.

Would it help my internet speeds to replace that splitter with a 1-1 connector to just the router? Or does the splitter do fine when the other cables are not used?

Or is it faster to run ethernet from ONT to router and not use coax at all?

[Edit: I have upgraded to 300/300 internet, but the verizon rep didn't mention having to change from coax to ethernet when connecting ONT to router.]

Anything else I should physically change now I don't have tv and phone but do have 300/300 internet?

Thank you!

Now that you are on 300/300 you can leave the coax alone. Just run an ethernet from ONT to your router. Or call Verizon and have them do it for you. I would think they would send someone out anyway if they upgraded you.
