I use a software package for amateur radio called Amateur Contract lock (ACL). Very often (matter of days sometimes) the site that it phones home to for country list ...etc gets blocked by my home FIOS. The program becomes non-responsive and if i choose the online help from the menu, it results in a timeout message. I know the site is ok, as i can remote into work and connect to the site, and if I try on my phone while not connected to my home network, it works all the time. If I connect to my home wi-fi, the site becomes unreachable by my phone also. Thus i believe the site is not the problem. The way I have to temporarily fix the problem is to sign into my router and release my ip address. I then wait about 30 sec and renew. This gets me a new IP-address and the problem is gone. A couple days to a couple weeks, and the problem returns. I tried twice to get tech support to help, and they are totally lost. Once they played with it until I lost all connectively and then transfer me to the premium service, which is a paid service. Anyone have any idea as to what my problem is. I think this problem stated about one month ago when i purchased a new G3100 router. It is on hardware version 1104, firmware version 2.0.0.6. Thanks in advance for any help.
I just went to their website. It says it has a 45-ish day free trial for the software. Are you sure this is not some kind of software licensing issue? They may use your public IP address as a marker to track how long you were on the free trial. Once the 45 days are up, they refuse the service. If you were to renew the IP address, you are being marked for another 45 days under a different IP label.
I highly doubt Verizon layer 3 blocks particular websites.
I purchased the software and it shows as registered. I have never made it anywhere near 45 days. So far two weeks is the best I have gotten.
