Can MI424WR be used as a bridge/repeater?

Just had my MI424WR (black) router replaced with the new Verizon "N" router (reddish brown)

Can the old MI424WR be configured for bridge/repeater mode so that it picks up the wireless signal and then repeats it?

Are there instructions how to do it?

Currently, I have an Apple modem repeating the signal throughout the house.  However, I figure it can't hurt to add yet another additional repeater just for the heck of it.

I assume you mean a Wireless Access Point (WAP) and not a modem.  Yes, you can add additional WAPs for better coverage in a large house.

Repeater no, Bridge yes then it would be a seperate wireless signal.

reset it to factory defaults

connect a machine to it with an ethernet cable to one of it's lan ports using the default userid and password

Disable the moca (broadband) connection

give it an ip address on the 192.168.1 subnet that is NOT 192.168.1.1 and preferably not in the dhcp pool on the new router

set up the wireless ssid and security

disable the dhcp server 

connect it to a coax connector

it can be connected anywhere on the coax network

I followed the directions as described.  When I move iPad away from primary wireless connection towards the bridge it disconnects and just cycles trying to connect.  I lose; Router, DNS, and Search Domains fields in my wireless settings.  Any idea what might be going wrong?  

on other wireless PC I see the add'l wireless connection, although signal strength is only up to 57 from 53%

The guy wants to connect the old router WIRELESSLY  to the new one and repeat the signal. you telling him to use coax...?
