Greetings.
I have a G3100 Home Router with one G3200 WiFi Extender in a remote part of the house. All is working well ::knocking on wood::
I am considering purchasing an additional G3200 WiFi extender for my home office instead of using a Fios Network adapter for ethernet connectivity. The G3200 has two ethernet ports, the Fios Network adapter I am talking about has 4 ethernet ports. I have two questions:
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Solved! Go to Correct Answer
First of all, I think you mean E3200, instead of G3200.
A G3100 can support up to 5 (five) E3200. A MoCA network can technically support 16 nodes, that is one G3100 and 15 E3200s or ECB5240M (Fios Network Adapter), but Verizon engineering caps the limit to 5.
E3200 does have advantages over the ECB5240M. E3200 has tri-band 802.11ax + n wireless, but has two less Ethernet ports. E3200 has MoCA 2.5 instead of bonded MoCA 2.0 of the ECB5240M.
E3200s can co-exist with Fios Network Adapter on the same network.
