I'm unable to access acadv.org. This happened about a month ago and Verizon support seemed to fix it but it's happened again. After reading through this forum, I did everything dslr suggested on the post "Can't access 250free.com" but nothing worked. Support didn't tell me what the problem was or how they fixed it. Did a tracert to the IP (72.159.229.215) and it times out at dns 12.81.84.31 after about 16 hops. Any suggestions?
#1 Please show us the trace route.
For example, when you do the trace route type in tracert www.acadv.org >C:\results.txt and press enter.
#2 Are you using some sort of VPN or Tunnel?

As far as I can tell, the last IP is owned by ATT Worldnet Services

No
Thanks
I did some testing, and I will tell what I found.
I am not sure how Verizon will fix the issue.
Let me tell you first what you can do to, so that you can access the site.
#1 Go to http://code.google.com/p/namebench/
#2 Download (and install the program as needed)
#3 In the namebench-1.3.1 Directory, go the config Directory.
#4 Edit the hostname_reference.cfg so that it includes
a www.acadv.org.=72.159.229.215
#5 Get to the first screen of the program.
That looks like the first screen that you see at http://code.google.com/p/namebench/wiki/UsingNameBench
#6 Be sure to check Include Censorship Checks.
#7 Click Start and let it run,
#8 View the report when you are done.
#9 Add one more DNS Servers that do not display No answer (SERVFAIL) OR appears incorrect for that domain, to your computer.
For example..
a) My DNS Servers that I usually use are 151.197.0.38 (nsphil.bellatlantic.net) and 151.197.0.39 (home4.bellatlantic.net) , but I could not acces the site. 😞
b) When set my computer to use the following DNS Servers in this sequence: 8.8.4.4 (google-public-dns-b.google.com), 151.197.0.38 (nsphil.bellatlantic.net) and 151.197.0.39 (home4.bellatlantic.net) I can access the site.

on pros and cons of where you set the DNS Server(s).
