Can't connect on 2.4G network following firmware upgrade to 02.02.00.16

My G1100 router had fw 02.02.00.16 pushed to it on 12/15/2019, since then none of my devices can connect to the 2.4G network. Already tried rebooting router, disabling/enabling 2.4GHz radio, removing AP settings from devices and establishing new connections, nothing works. Sometimes the 2.4G netwrok doesn't show up in a network scan, other times "authentication failure" is the error message...

Anyone else had/having similar issues post upgrade?

I don't use fios router, but I do have one which makes no difference here.

i am going to say the upgrade possibly activated the self organizing network (SON) by default and possibly check to see if it is on and turn it off. It's not really necessary.

second possibility is the firmware update toasted the router. Call 1-800-VERIZON and have them replace it.

I had the 02.02.00.16 firmware pushed to my G1100 router too.  Ever since then, both the 2.4G and 5G SSIDs were made the same. Before the update, they had names like Home_2_4 and Home_5_0 and now they are both Home as the SSID.  I logged into the router and I don't see where I can change the names to be separate names again.

Some people have stated you can turn it off in the fios app. Or login to the fios router 192.168.1.1 after you log in you can toggle the SON off that way.
