Can we pay to get FIOS into our house since the next door neighbor has it already?

Our next door neighbor has FIOS and we want to see if we can pay to get it installed at our house. We called in several times and the agents claim we cannot get any Verizon services at our house, not even plain old telephone service.

Is there any way we can get Verizon?

Are you in a new house?

Did you ask your neighbor how they signed up (online, calling in, a door to door salesperson)?

If you go online, there is a place to see if Verizon is available at your address. Have you tried that to see what it says?
