Cannot get links to come up

I just installed DSL amd wifi on my computer.  When i try to click on certain links in emails or on web pages they do not pop up in another screen.  Some of them work, but majority do not. Is this a security setting or is it something else. The computer is new also and has Norton installed as the security.

This doesn't sound like a connection problem, but the first thing you should definitely try doing is disabling any "Privacy" or "Pop-up/Ad Blocking" software that may have come with Norton temporarilly. Security Suites tend to have the worst methods of blocking, and unfortunately they can cause these kinds of problems even on the "Low" settings.
